On the evening of Nov. 15, 2005, a tornado passed less than a half mile from my house. I was blissfully unaware of the havoc occurring so close to home as I sat in the basement with my two dogs. I learned there had been some wind damage later that night; it wasn’t until the light of the next day that I discovered the extent of the damage. Two barns, just down the road, were leveled. The image to the left shows what is left of one of the barns.

The tornado took a path across the fields, dropped trees all around the neighbors house but left the house intact. From there it was through the woods, wiping out another barn. When it came out to the road on the other side, it completely trashed a trailer and lifted part of the roof off of a house and the barn behind it.
